The new central library opened on Halloween, 2006
There are branches of the Calvert library system in Owings, Chesapeake Beach, and Solomons as well as the main library in Prince Frederick. There also is an Outreach Van the delivers loaners to shut-ins and senior housing.
The Prince Frederick branch offers computer classes, tutoring rooms, a quiet study room, a special children's section on the mezzanine, including the storytime room. The tutoring rooms are frequently used by the Literacy Council for .
